From 1948 to 1949, Lionel offered what many collectors consider the most attractive cars in the 2400 series. These plastic streamlined cars had bodies painted green, accented with yellow stripes and window outlines. The lettering was heat-stamped in white, and the roof was painted dark gray. The cars were illuminated and had plain frosted window inserts. These were offered in both 0 and 027 gauge sets.
